Lara Zwilling, MHS, LMHC, CFMHE is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Forensic Mental Health Evaluator who has worked in private practice and also spent the last twelve years with Santa Fe College. Many of those years were spent supervising other counselors as the Coordinator of Santa Fe College’s Counseling Center. Her expertise on campus was in crisis counseling and working with difficult and disruptive students, as well as students who struggle with anger and establishing and maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships. After many years with Santa Fe, Lara has recently returned to private work, and specializes in evaluations, professional development and training, however remains with Santa Fe College as an adjunct professor. Lara is an advocate for women’s rights and reducing stigma among people with mental health conditions. She is also a member of the NAMI Gainesville chapter and a board member for the North Central Florida Mental Health Coalition. She enjoys working with clients utilizing a humanitarian and behavioral therapy model. Additionally, Lara enjoys training others in conflict resolution, de-escalation, suicide prevention, and recognizing, responding and referring someone in a mental health crisis.
